This is very easy and delicious.
Preheat the oven to 350.
Cut several whole wheat pita pocket breads into six equal pieces. Separate the pieces so you end up with 12 pieces per pita bread.
Lay the pieces on a baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes until almost crisp.
The pita pieces are now chips; use them to scoop hummus*. Hummus is a great substitute for chip dip – healthy and delicious.
*Hummus is basically ground chickpeas and sesame paste (tahini) plus whatever other flavors you want to add. I am currently purchasing hummus from Costco, but I understand that it’s pretty easy to make yourself. I’ll post it here when I find a recipe that’s easy and delicious.
